THE NUMBERS

COMEDY SHORT

WRITTEN, DIRECTED & EDITED BY HANNAH BROOKS.

“Everyday we turn on the TV to hear “the numbers”. I wanted to gives us all a chuckle as I take a swipe at political opportunism in the age of COVID”

THE STORY

In the grand tradition of political satire, THE NUMBERS is a statement on the politicisation of the pandemic.

The story tracks the conversations between the Premier and his Chief of Staff as they navigate policy decisions, and the Premier’s popularity during the pandemic.

The “us” and “them” dynamic of the political process is deeply embedded in the tone of the film. I was hoping to capture the frustration we have all felt with our political leaders during lockdown.
